But for those of you TK fans who have not, here's the story. We are gathering at the GFP (that's the George Fox Pavilion...named for the Nields song...not the founder of the Quakers) on Thursday night, with cooking beginning at 6 o'clock. main course is spaghetti with grilled portobello mushrooms or meatballs and whatever else people bring. The GFP will be located at the very top of the hill along the tree line and marked by a flashing red light 15 feet in the air atop a solar shower. Bring guitars and whatever instruments you may have. We also have some "pros" among us...like Brie Sullivan; Cadaence carrool who has said she will be up after dinner; We're About 9; and Full frontal Folk; and may have even more. We even have a threat that Sheila Turner will play some new compositions. Let me know off the list (rozettj@aol.com) if you can come sothat we can have a head count for this TN/TK extravaganza. trapper john Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 Jun 2002 14:14:00 EDT From: JanglePoets@aol.com Subject: Re: [JP] Falcon Ridge Dinner Blast In a message dated 6/21/2002 2:08:50 PM Eastern Daylight Time, rozettj@aol.com writes: > We even have a threat that Sheila Turner will play some new > compositions. > Ahm, Sheila only has one original composition to date, though she has a number of kick butt choruses and the odd verses, but none of them seem to go with one another just yet!! But my guitar teacher has suspended our normal lesson plan recently so that she can spend time grooming me to get songs (mainly covers, aside from my own one song) up to FRFF informal song-circle performance standards. This is a monumental task (think Eliza and Dr. Doolittle), and I should not be included in the list of pros any time soon!!!!! I haven't heard you, but I think that "the rain in spain" reference is a little rough for anyone's standards! :) If Sheila plays, I'll play... assuming I can get off work in enough time to get there on Thursday night!!! I did NOT want to do this, however, as a covert operation, believing that it should be public knowledge. What this means is that each post will need to be approved by myself before going through to the list. For the most part, you probably won't even notice anything different, but if I am needing to be away from the computer for large chunks of time (usually on weekends, when we should all be out investigating EVERY SINGLE festival in the continental United States, ANyway, duly reporting all findings to this list as soon as we have recovered on Monday), messages may not come through as quickly as they are posted. I do not plan on editing the content of posts, and I can't imagine that ANY of them (from the people currently on this list) will be denied bandwidth. I will simply approve them as they are and send them on through. If, for any reason, I choose NOT to send a post through, I will certainly write to the sender and explain why. I wish it didn't have to be this way, but for the time being, it does. For what it's worth, I can say that it's nothing having to do with any individual currently on this list. We're coming up on our second birthday here, and have even been experiencing a recent subscription boom with the new record. Running this list and being a part of this community is SUCH a joy, and this is THE nicest list of which I am a part, hands down. If anyone has any questions or complaints or opinions, please feel free to write, on or off list. And anyone going to Falcon Ridge, please DO join us at John's party. It's SUCH great fun!! Even Cosette had such a grand time last year, and she's a cat.
