It's really wonderful. And of course, having TK all over it doesn't exactly hurt it. Go buy it! It rocks. << This was a pretty controversial subject on NanciNet when it came out. While many people loved it, there were many who felt it was not up to Nanci's usual level. Unfortunately, while I can't specifically say that it's not up to her usual level, I can say that it didn't click with me much at all. Too much of it puts me to sleep. I can start listening to CWH at any song and like that song (except maybe one), but if I listen to several songs in a row from anywhere I start it, I'm off to slumberland again. There are a few songs on CWH that will probably remain among my favorite Nanci songs, but still, the overall effect has made this the only CD of Nanci's that has not spent a *lot* of time being repeated over and over again in my CD player. "Shaking Out The Snow" has been the most controversial song on CWH. Many people seem to feel that Nanci's vocal is too crackly to be bearable. Others feel that it is the most moving performance of her career. And some who have complained about the version on the CD have loved her live performance of the song. I'm looking forward to hearing it live so I can judge for myself. "Pearl's Eye View" is my favorite song on CWH. The inflection Nanci gives to the "War is hell" line is (in my ears) one of the most typically "Nanci" moments on the entire CD. The ability to be so expressive in her vocals is one of the many reasons she remains one of my two favorite artists of all time. And, based on The Kennedys' live performance of PEV, once I have "Get It Right", I expect to be able to enjoy both versions, though in very different ways. Other favorites for me on CWH are the title song, "Lost Him In The Sun" with its "Looking for a home like a bird, like a bird in flight" line, and "In The Wee Small Hours" - which I think Nanci does a lovely version of. Ken Still undecided on where "Clock Without Hands" will fall among my list of favorite CDs of all time, but pretty sure that it won't end up as a Desert Island Disk.
