Had to laugh when one of my music-digest-news-thingies pointed me to this link this morning... breaking news... http://www.billboard.com/billboard/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1233661 backstreet boy nick carter was arrested for refusing to leave a club... my fave quote from the article is: In a statement released Thursday, Carter said he did nothing wrong. "I truly believe my celebrity motivated the officer to arrest me," he said. I am certain that after a full investigation of the facts my name will be cleared." Oh, Winona... have you started a club?? *rolls eyes* Only difference is... I had some respect for her... and never really much cared for the Backstreet Boys.... Say... does anyone have lyrics to Why Winona that they could/would post? I think it's worth a read... for those who won't get to hear it for a while!! :) Off to teach one of my favorite piano students... a retired man who bought a piano when he retired and had a bet with his wife... a fur coat for christmas if he didn't learn to play it within a year of retiring. :) so... he signed up with me, and we have a blast. we're learning some fun jazz standards... and some arrangments of classical stuff... as he puts it "you know... that long haired music, but the kind that people recognize... not the kind that puts you to sleep!" ha! what a trip. I guess when you're 65 you're entitled to play whatever you want!! (incidentally, his wife got the fur coat for christmas anyway... even though he played her "where is love" and "sweet georgia brown" and an arrangement of "clair de lune" on christmas day :) sooo sweet...) Yours in peace, love, understanding, and celebrities who don't use their celebrity status in a negative way...... just because you're famous, mr. backstreet, doesn't mean you're above the law. ha. No fair. Pete and Maura were awesome on saturday. Talya was missed. Pleased to make the acquaintance of Ken and Lurker Charlie. C+M Thompson were quite good, albeit it a tad too homecoming queen. I enjoyed their set. Biting my nails waiting for TK, but not unhappily: The Kennedys: Life Is Large Pick You Up Can't Kill Hope... The Point was packed with MainLiners intent on their wine, J&B, and loud conversations. By the third song, they were listening intently, clearly surprised at their own interest. Great stuff.
