I just found out that Pete and Maura are once again going to take part in this year's "The Downtown Messiah" at the Bottom Line IN NYC, on December 14th and 15th (shows at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. -- tickets are $25). This is one of their favorite gigs, and I've heard wonderful things about it (though I haven't seen it yet). For the uninitiated, "The Downtown Messiah" is "a modern interpretation of Handel's masterpiece, with choir, chamber orchestra and guests soloists." This years soloists include The Accidentals, Richard Barone, Don Byron, Gordon Chambers, Margaret Dorn, David Johansen, The Kennedys, Peter & Toby Kiesewalter, Lina Koutrakos, Ann Marie Milazzo, Terre Roche, Catherine Russell, Jane Siberry, and Tony Trischka. DJ Meg Griffin is the narrator.
