See you in Bryn Athyn. > Travel safely everybody. > b-dette, who heard a rumor that TK are moving to NYC? is this true? Bern's been complaining about the lack of activity on JanglePoets. I told her every1 is on the message boards @ because it's almost Thanksgiving. has a really cool website & the 4mat of the message boards is very superior 2 janglepoets & the nook. The thing I like the most about message boards is that they don't take over my e-mail when they get active. I go 2 the website & that's it. They don't send me anything so I don't have 2 use my memory. Also there R many options available like chatrooms & private messages. This is the same 4mat that GatheringOfTheVibes (GOTV) website uses. Those Arlo/ Dead Heads R sure ahead of the curve when it comes 2 cyberspace. This week is the PA leg of the Arlo Thanksgiving tour. Harrisburg/ Easton/ Glenside, so I may not make the Barns/ Bryn Athen shows. I can't make up my mind... As of yesterday TK were planning a move in2 the NYC area. Personally, I'd B re-thinking it 2day, but then I have NO need or desire 2 live within the rotten Apple. I heard a great comment durring the world series from 1 sportscaster 2 another from NYC, " It may come as a surprise 2 U but once U leave the city, people really don't care about New York. " I couldn't agree more. Is it OK 2 not like the Yankees yet? I wonder how many New Yorkers R thinking about moving out now? I've never understood the attraction. Why would any1 want 2 live in the middle of a traffic jam? The Catskills is as close as I ever need 2 B 2 NYC. I think they should give it back 2 the indians... This is doubly exciting because, despite my efforts LAST year, they didn't even make the list (no accounting for some people's taste, clearly). This year, listeners were asked: "Just imagine for a moment that you and a computer named HAL are about to embark on a half-billion mile journey to Jupiter. To pass the time, you are allowed to bring along a collection of music by your ten favorite folk artists. Which ten performers will you choose?" This was much easier than only choosing 10 CDs, a la Survivor style, last year, but I still had too many people! All this week, WUMB is counting down, playing three selections from each artist. You can see the countdown, in progress and updated daily, at http://www.wumb.org, and you can listen live on-line too!
