Recently I caught the Chairwoman of the International Campaign 2 Ban Landmines being interveiwed about Afganistan... It seems the 'great pretender' Bush & his cronies R showing their true colors. The present carpetbombing technology leaves unXploded bombs on the ground as land mines & these mines R THE Xact SAME YELLOW COLOR AS THE HUMANITARIAN AID FOOD PACKAGES! This must B the republican version of the ol' bait & switch. We, yes U & I, R paying 4 the destruction & mutilation of innocent woman, children, & non-combatants who just want something 2 eat. This is the kind of thing that completely justifies the global hatred & distrust of Amerikans great & small. I guess the taliban was right when they said the aid packages were a deception. I just want 2 say FUK U chicken head George Bush & all the greedy asswipes that voted 4 U! U're all a bunch of baby killers just like U were in Vietnam & Nicaragua. I hope U all get anthrax, especially every1 on the criminal supreme court. Nowhere in the US Constitution does it say that the supreme court gets 2 pick the president. The election results R UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The highest law of the land has been circumvented & that means ANYTHING goes now. The republicans R the true enemy of freedom & THE POLICE R NOT YOUR FRIENDS. Not even in NYC. I repeat, the police R not your friends. It's their job 2 take away your civil liberties. I'm begining 2 think this whole WTC / Afganistan is just an attempt 2 defraud us of our constitutional rights & a cover-up 4 driving a perfectly good economy in2 the ground in 6 months. Above all, I hold the criminal supreme court responsible 4 ignoring the will of the US electorate 2 promote their own conservative agenda. Finally the yanks got what they deserve. Like Bush, Jon Kees has got 2 go. The hour-long main part of the show was taped for broadcast, to be aired at eight a.m. this Sunday, 11/11/2001 (you can listen on-line at the previously noted website). The set list was: Life is Large Pearl's Eye View Angels Cry River of Fallen Stars Pick You Up Run Red Lights Nickeltown Fortune Teller Road Orange Blossom Special During the first part of the set, DJ Dave Palmatier (EVERY time I tune into him, he plays a Kennedys' song) hosted a mini-quiz show called "Know Your Spouse/Guitarist," very similar to the Newlywed Show. Maura was asked questions about Pete and vice versa. They both got 100%, and it was very cute. After the segment was taped, they went into their all-request encore set, which included: *Can't Kill Hope with a Gun *Velvet Glove (the request of Etta, an adorable little girl who, prior to the show, had Pete and Maura sitting on the floor with her, playing with her very psychedelic spinning tops....after they left her, her mom whispered to one of her friends "I THINK those were the artists playing on the floor there with Etta!") *Day In & Day Out *Easy People (I was so happy I finally got to hear this -- they've really made this song their own, while being faithful to the spirit of the original. They actually seem to sing this to each other, and to watch them sing "I choose you to take up all of my time," and "to you I would give the songs I write, the words I pray, and the morning light......." to each other choked me up it was SO sweet and sincere) *Get It Right *Wall of Death It was a very intimate setting, and a great show. Like I said, it will be broadcast Sunday morning, and can be accessed from the 'net as well, if anyone is up at eight a.m. on a Sunday morning (that would definitely NOT include me!).
