Is there anyone in Norwalk or nearby who can offer 3 tired New Yorkers a place to sleep on Saturday night? Bruce says he won't be there. If we can get a crashpad I can get a ride from NYC with them and that will make it possible for me to go b/c I can't afford to train it all the way to Norwalk and back. please please please? we'll be ever so grateful. bern, needs to go to Norwalk, needs to get to Norwalk, crossing fingers + toes "And the jangle poets sing me a song..." - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Only $9.95 per month! http://my.netzero.net/s/signup?r=platinum&refcd=PT97 Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Oct 2001 00:18:34 EDT From: Fantine729@aol.com Subject: [JP] Happy Anniversary!! Oh My God. I was still reeling from the rest of the weekend and determined not to "get into it" until Sara Guthrie stepped up and dedicated a song to the 10,000+ children orphaned by 9/11 and played Orphan Girl. I cried for the rest of the show, even intermission. Arlo commented on how "songwriting is like fishing," which I'd heard about from Nerissa at the 2/23/01 show. He p[layed City Of New Orleans, which I have always wanted to hear him do live since I was, like, 15, and first heard a recording of him and steve goodman (rip) doing it together. He closed with "This Land Is Your Land," which totally killed me since I was thinking of the kennedys playing it all the way to the show. The last song was "Prologue" which I hadn't heard before, what a killer tune! There were so many wonderful moments, I can't even go there, really. I became hooked. And WORSE! Bob gave me a ride to the train station and I finally heard Equation and Seven Nations. Not fair! I have enough on my plate! UGH! Wow. Arlo. Go see him. He is awesomer than ever. He rules. - -bern, not done with this review but really tired. It's been a long and very wonderful weekend, filled wth great friends and great music. What more could I ask for? Oh, and pints of Old Foghorn Barleywine Ale. heh, heh bernadette, going to Norwalk on Sat even if I have to sleep on the street "the mooses think your house is a zoo: that's why the mooses are looking at you." -AG Only $9.95 per month! http://my.netzero.net/s/signup?r=platinum&refcd=PT97 Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V3 #179 **********************************
