Really? Cool! Absolfrigginlutely! B4 the show Maura asked me if I knew the lyrics 2 EZPeople. Libby was standing there, & I recited the 1st verse/ chorus. Maura repeated it a couple of times 2 herself & walked away... I didn't really think anything of it... So they open W/ Life Is Large > Highway10 > Come In2 My Kitchen... I walked back stage 2 get... well, I went backstage as they introed Pick U Up... The buffet table kind of distracted me. I mean, here I M alone W/ the food! I spilled hot liquid all over myself when it dawned on me that P&M were playing EZPeople!!! Naturally I rushed 2 the front row & proceded 2 occupy an unused lawn chair. It was fantastic! Maura sang the 1st verse & Pete joined in on the chorus. They only did this 1st verse, immediatly sequeing in2 Finally Get It Right. It was like Maura was singing 2 TN... She was very emotional. I'm not sure but she may have had tears in her eyes... It was a moment not 2 B missed! Also, it has been brought 2 my attention that no quorum of any kind Xisted @ the Kennedys Me&Thee coffeehouse per4mance. P&M said they didn't C ANYBODY they knew & that the show was poorly attended. That means a lot of people dropped the ball here, & 4 what I ask U? U chowderheads, U so called Kennedys fans, have some serious Xplaning 2 do. U R ALL in the dawghouse. I C how U R now... 'Getting 2 C the real U @ last.' Just can't resist the same old beat Dar songs over & over again. Talk about easily amused! Did U think your dirty little secret would go unnoticed? How lame thou art. I C how U R *sniffles, hoping _she_ isn't in cone's so-called-dawghouse, thinking that the 4-hour drive from williamsburg up to delaware shows at least _some_ jangler-loyalty... even if she didn't make it to me&thee...* *giggle* Truly... DelMarVa was not to be missed... what fun... a great night on many many levels.... totally worth the trip up. P&M rocked as always... I am so thankful for music right now... for that connection... like Pete said to me.... paraphrasing... it's not just something that's out there that you just do or enjoy. it's a part of you. I have to admit, driving into the place i wanted to hum dueling banjos... a little bit o' deliverance-country going on. BUT... it was a great stage... a great wooded area... great sound... and fun people (excluding the falling-over drunk guy who just HAD to make mischief during andy&denise's set.... ARGH). anyway.... time to go and do some work... and watch the roommates drool over the tv-set.... some hardcore yankees fans in the house, and they are so hoping that the yanks pull it off tonight.... i guess if i want any peace in the house, i'd better hope so, too! take care, all --- Libby BTW... I forget... At some point, an handful of us sat and defined just how many janglers it was actually necessary to have to have a true jangle-poet quorum.... Anyone recall the official definition? :) Or did we just leave it at... enough of us to make some noise?! - -- - ---------------------------------------------------------------- Libby Wiebel | ewiebel@cs.wm.edu | http://www.cs.wm.edu/~ewiebel - ---------------------------------------------------------------- "Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it." - Helen Keller - ---------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Oct 2001 21:56:31 -0400 From: "Ken Stiffler" Subject: RE: [JP] Eddie from Ohio Video Page and a new Nields video Thanks, Harry. What *I* want to know is how Cone knew where I was instead....there must have been a leak from inside The Jangle Poets Organization (what a great acronym...the JPO), despite my swearing them to absolute secrecy because I knew I'd never hear the end of it. Anyway, yes, guilty as charged, though it's a bit more complex than my ditching P&M to see Dar. There were, as Cone would say, X-10-uating Circumstances 2 B had. I did, however, say to the main extenuating circumstances, "how the hell did you persuade me to be here instead of there?" I think I was brainwashed. It's the ONLY explanation, considering that Dar does not generally rank ahead of The Kennedys, but had it not been for Dar, I would probably have never heard of The Kennedys. If it helps, I did spend most of the show in NoHo wishing I was in Marblehead, at the Me & Thee, but I'm sure it probably doesn't help. :) Peace, Sheila I am not looking for no champion of my freedom I am anything but anybody's foundling...... - - Dave Carter Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V3 #173 **********************************
