May there be many more. My name was STILL @ the door! The promoter was standing there, WAITING, W/ our tickets in his hand... This is the life! Last night we went back W/ 'impliments of destruction' & a specific mission on our minds. Abe & Sarah were still there but, Xavier had been replaced X the Ocean City Pops Orchestra, in their white tuxs' & all. Now I've seen Arlo 75+ times but I'd never seen anything like this! EZ listening Arlo! He did a sing along W/ the orchestra on I Can't Help Falling In Love W/ U, closed the 1st set W/ the Gambler's Blues, & encored W/ Good Night Irene! Abe & Sarah joined him 4 CityOfNO... Well, it's history now... Well preserved history I might add. Every time he would stop in the middle of a song it would mess W/ the orchestra... A couple of times he forgot 2 put his capo on which didn't quite jive W/ the sheet music. Disaster was narrowly averted several times. I made several new connections @ this show & I have 2 thank Courtney Malley 4 scheduling me 2 work next 2 the autograph signing booth @ PFF while Abe, Johnny, Sarah, & Xavier were there. We're practically family now! C-Head coneh@usa.net ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Aug 2001 09:00:23 -0700 From: "David Percy" Subject: [jangle-poets] The pmost prolific band at FR? Hey Janglers, The last two digests I've rec'd have been entirely filled with x-posts from the Nook, so I thought I'd buch the trend... Did anyone work out how many times the Kennedys played at FR (either on mainstage, workshop, at their booth, or at a campiste)? I'd say they popped up at least half a dozen times that I saw them, and prolly more. The question is: were there any other performers that managed to out-do them? I'd say the Nields Sisters (yee-hah!) came close to popping up wherever they could... This is off the top of my head, so I may be missing some, but here are the artists that I came up with as having 6 or more appearences: Nields sister(s): Nields, Dar, Songs, Bob, Songwriters, duos, bluegrass Dave Chalfant: Nields, Erin, Dave & Tracy, Songs, Bob, bluegrass Tom Landa/Paperboys: Paperboys, Nields, EFO, closing song, bluegrass, Bob, string wiz's Kennedys: Nields, EFO, closing song, Songs, 2 Vintage clothing tent Susan Werner: Susan, Nields, song swap, closing song, blues, rolling Mark Erelli: Mark, Nields, blues, roots, Bob, songs Vance Gilbert: biz workshop, Vance, closing song, songswap, Nields, Bob I count 5 appearences by John Gorka, Carter&Grammer, Jian, and Erin so by my count, if you count all of their appearences as individuals or as a group, the Nields lead with 9 appearences. Tom Landa/Paperboys are next with 7 appearences (would have been 8, as they were supposed to guest with Entrain, but a workshop ran late), and then a few people had 6. pleae correct me if I've forgotten anyone. I wouldn't point that out because it would be shameless self-promotion, but someone else might point that out. Vance Gilber has the most appearences, as he managed to get at least part of his body in a lot of the clips of other artists. ; ) Harry ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
