Even though she will never B as big as Dar she may B just as famous someday. On 'the Ridge' I only purchased 3 CDs, as I was on a tight budget. Girl Made Wings is worth every penny. Brie writes deep, intense lyrics while maintaining a light, palatable sence of composition. While dark in places, Brie's lighthearted humor neutralizes the angst 4 a well balanced blend of 'lonely, angry, little folk girl' songs. U know I had 2 pick up LFN & U know it's FANTASTIC... & sad. It has Amelia's 1st autograph on it, which, if U hold it right, looks a lot like a question mark... I also ran in2 Mary Sue Twohy & managed 2 wrassal a copy of her Kennedys produced CD The Risk Involved away from her. She didn't put up much of a fight, & I ended up W/ a pretty damned good CD... She covers a lot of ground but the cover of Cy Kahn's Luray Women is absolutly spellbinding. Cadence Carroll was the 1st person who suggested that I check out Gandalf Murphy And The Slambovian Circus Of Dreams. Suddenly this suggestion was repeated 2 me X several confidants, almost simitaniously. On my way 2 the New Haven Green I was highjacked X some Slambovians... & now I think I'm turning Slambovian... I hear the sound of classic art in the Circus. They have this song called Never Fit that sais IT ALL IN A NUTSHELL. Also a sublmely psychodelic number called Alice's Space just KNOCKED ME ON MY ASS! The CD is called A Good Thief Tips His Hat & no home is complete W/O it... No home is complete W/O Cadence Carroll either. Her new CD is finished & should B made available soon. I've heard the working title is Buy This CD So I Can Get The Hell Out Of Norwalk, but don't qoute me. I've preveiwed much of the material, but I'm biased. MayB Kate, who I think may B the 1st DJ 2 hear the new CD could shed some more light on it. Cadence is very good. She's almost as good as Joules Graves & what she lacks in Xperience she makes up 4 in enthusiasm. I predict she's going... ah... places. I simply have 2 mention... Joules Graves... Joules... Graves!!! C-Head coneh@usa.net ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V3 #142 **********************************
