How horrid of me! First off, i just want to apologize to everyone if i seemed a little distant at fr (especially to maura, as i think my end of the hello hug was way weak!). I had a string of migraines lasting all weekend. I didn't want to whine about it, so i didn't mention it too much (i'm whining now though, damn it). But just incase I seemed a little out of it or even rude i figured i should apologize. Other than that, FRFF was GREAT! I *loved* the vintage clothing booth. Corbie got an awesome shirt. The kennedys' shows there were great and spontaneous, as the kennedys always are. Pete played guitar with dashboard buddha! Speaking of dashboard buddha... FRFF saw the very first dashboard buddha convention. P&M's buddha, sheila's buddha, and my buddha (with corbie's help) all came together to discuss such things as lower cell phone bills, and the price of coffee. And they squeaked a lot. I met sheila's kitty, cosette, for the second time. She was a wonderful cat, as always, and she is definitely one of my best furry friends. The music was good too. Lots of kennedys appearances. they're everywhere, i'm telling ya. After the festival, corbie and i drove around NY state for a few days. We camped the first night south-west of albany. It was a nice camp site, though we spent very little time there. The second night we camped at limekiln lake in the heart of the adirondacks. From 1-5 AM there were bears walking around our tent. First i heard noises and thought "nah, can't really be bears" (there were signs up saying to not feed bears and that some bears had been sighted, and to keep food in the car, etc...). Then I heard one breathing next to the tent. Then we heard them walking around, and at some point one actually bumped into the tent. It was a positively terrifying night...and we didn't sleep at all. The next night we stayed in a hotel. yeah. in ithica...i like ithica. it reminds me of asheville. There were no bears in the hotel. The next day we drove 18 hours home. anyhow, i just wanted to share my experiences with the list! Yay kennedys! Yay live music! No yay bears! - -rhiannon Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V3 #132 **********************************
