A very nice girl and her friend showed up just in time for the Encore. She is a great artist and is getting the bass slap down too. I missed her name too Cone didn't, but he won't tell me what it is. Anyway, Pete asked her, since she'd just arrived, if there was something she wanted to hear and she said, "That song about Revolution." And Maura said, "Revolution #9"? Well, they didn't play THAT Beatles tune (which would have been interesting) but they did play, also from the White Album, "Revolution," a/k/a in common parlance, "You Say You Want A Revolution." They may not have had all the words down, but it was truly brilliant. I thought I saw Maura transmogrify into Paul at the end of the song. >> Looks like I starting paying attention just in time to be talked about! :) My friend and I were stuck in the airport for, count 'em, 4 hours!!! We had been looking forwards to the concert for a while too, so those 4 hours were miserable and painful...only eased by having 'Revolution' stuck in my head the entire time. Although, if you ask my friend, I'm sure I drove her crazy with the song. Anyway, I won't rant not about how ridiculously confusing airports are, or how much i despise them now....When we finally got to the point it was about 11:30 (right?). When Pete asked me what I would like to hear, Revolution was the first thing in my mind...Immediately after I thought, "what am i saying? I waited all this time to hear the kennedys, and I don't even ask them to play one of their own songs? ahh!" But I was not disappointed, of course. It was great! After being so miserable, my mood did a complete turnaround. yay! Only the Kennedys would be able to do something like that for me. Thank you!! Thanks for the compliment, Bern, about my artwork. I scanned in the picture that I drew of Pete and Maura before giving it to them (somewhere along the line I might need that portfolio for college they say...). I fiddled around with it a tiny bit, but It's basically the same. If anyone would like me to send it, just let me know. It's not like anything i've ever tried before, but I had fun with it. Makes me happy to know how much Pete and Maura enjoyed it. Anyway, just wanted to say hello---I'll be signing off the list pretty soon as I'm going to Italy(yeehaw!) and then vermont to study songwriting with Steve Gillette(i'm soo nervous!!). Pete and Maura, if you read this, thanks so much for doing Revolution, and I'll keep in touch this summer. You guys rock! Oh, and Cone, thank you too for the favor ;) Talya Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V3 #102 **********************************
