Thanks John, this is very good news! However, I'm having difficulty finding info about exactly WHO, and specifically WHAT is on this set. There's no description on the amazon site, and really not much info on the Gene Clark and Byrds sites. I found a URL for "Not Lame Records", but it doesn't seem to work. Do you have any more details that you can pass along, please? What they actually played was "Feel A Whole Lot Better," which I don't remember them playing half as well as I swear I remembered SDCAT. As for the tribute album, it's called _Full Circle_ and The Kennedys have a version of "Here Without You" on it (it's a different mix than on their album). _Full Circle_ is on the Not Lame label (www.notlame.com). To quote: Full Circle - G Clark Tribute The 36 song set features extensive liner notes from noted Byrds expert and noted journalist/musician Sid Griffin (Long Ryders) and features (mostly) exclusive cuts from such artists as Steve Wynn, Carla Olson, Sid Griffin, Bill Lloyd, The Kennedys, Walter Egan, Chris Von Sneidern, George Usher, The Shazam, Myracle Brah, ex-Windbreaker Bobby Sutliff, Frank "Jackson" Blake (featuring Norman Blake from Teenage Fanclub and Francis MacDonald from the BMX Bandits) and special songs from Gene's brother, Rick and, son, Kai, making this a heartfelt family tribute as well. The music will feature the archetypes that have made Gene's music so influential and which will be immediately recognizable to his fans. His musical DNA is fully represented and the songs contained on the set span his entire musical career with The Byrds, Dillard & Clark, his work with the Gosdin Brothers and his own solo works and include a few unreleased songs by Gene, as well. Essential. The Kennedys rocked the Cellar Stage last night on the west side of Baltimore. Sans Cady Carrol (it's a long way from Norwalk), the duet was in fine form as they treated a near full house 2 many of the usual subjects, & in the 1st set, a rare medley of Sunday>Free>(1st time since the CD)a tune off of AngelFire, I think... What's a song they've never played? Well, anyway... they pulled it off W/ flying colors. A few new tidbits of inspiration turned up in the jams 2 River (1st set conc) & Sirens (2nd set conc). Orange Blossom Sp & Sirens were on fire! U could C little sparks everytime Petes fingers cleared a fret! Cellar Stage is a work in progress in what promises 2 B a great sounding room. I've been informed that California Dreamin' & Feather & the Flame will most likely B reserved 4 shows W/ Cady or an additional voice (NN). I C great things looming large on the not so distant horizan. I M pleased 2 announce that on Thurs of FRFF weekend the Kennedys R booked @ Makor in NYC W/ Tracy Grammer & Dave Carter. This is good news 4 all U NYC JanglePoets & folks like myself who will B travelling from the south. I'm Xcited because nothing happening on the ridge on Thurs can compare 2 a Kennedys/Grammer&Carter double bill @ Makor. As much as I detest Makor, this could turn out 2 B a great chance 2 have a little fun W/ Brice, the anal retentive matre D... The guy who sends a sweeper in2 a SRO full house non smoking show 2 sweep up cigarette butts durring the performance (Probe), & who pushed us out the doors ASAP because he had double booked the Push Stars, who I might add, can barely draw a crowd. Brice, buddy, it looks like we meet again... So if U folks can figure out which song hasn't been played since the making of the CD, y'all might B able 2 make some sence of this reveiw. Actually Rebecca Derry was in the front row W/ her folks Paula & Greg, all of us 2gether constituting another quorum of nook members. They were the only EZPeople that I recognized @ the Cellar Stage & it's always good 2 C a friendly face... especially when U're missing Cady Carrol. Could y'all imagine P&M, Cady, & NN singing the 4 parts on California Dreamin'? Let's hope NN is game. A PLACE IN TIME, that's it! The medley went; Sunday>Free>A Place In Time! It was wonderful! MayB U'll get lucky some day, Sheila... I'm pretty sure I've heard Emily & Hey Vin. I may B mistaken about Hey Vin but I know I've heard Emily @ Ocean Library. I think your 1st Byrds choice (Lena's) was correct, although I'm still not sure... @ 1st when I heard it I thought it was a rare Beatles tune? It doesn't really go anywhere & couldn't hold my attention thru the end. Being on Evolver doesn't help much since I don't have anyway of listening 2 CDs & I don't have the cover.
