He's seen more shows (of different musicians) than anyone we know. Maybe he should compare notes with Conehead. Anyway, we've run into him in New York City, Austin, Nashville and Los Angelels, among other places, and even though we figured that many people would not know who he is, we put him in our own little home-grown video. By invoking Manchester Community College one can make a case for this being a college town, but a more representative description is " an old mill town "; a city struggling with Post Industrial Blight (PIB) ever since the textile mills shut down. It always makes me think of the song "Down By the Water" by Jim Armenti on Cry^3. But it's more urban than that song's imagery. PIB makes it sound kind of cheery, doesn't it? Yes! I plan to go see the dynamic duo at the Sounding Board - it's in my calendar. If it's in my calendar; I will be there. I'm also planning on going to the Feb 17 show at the Acoustic Cafe in Bridgeport - another PIB town. That's in my calendar as well. Anybody else out there going to either of these shows? Let's hear a little chatter out there! - -jim who's writing a check for Positively Live! even as he types. Well, i'm not going to either of those shows, but I can certainly chatter. I'm excited because I have my new email up and running, which is good because my other one was not working with this school's server and wouldn't let me send mail. Thus my absence from the janglers. I hope that the copies of the new cd don't go too fast...i cash my paycheck before i can order it...so it'll be at least Tuesday!!! i hope i have the money! Is anybody else going to the birchmere show in march? HaHaHa lives again. I'll be there, and it should be fun!!! You don't get a #1 anymore. They now have these cheap paper numbers and they start from the number after whatever the last number was the show before. So you could be first in line and have #89. The car does not seem to care for D.C., and I have yet to get there and back without incident. BUT, it does seem that each time, I am getting somewhat closer. The first time, I broke down in NJ on the way down. This past time, I had trouble IN D.C. proper. I am supposed to head down in February once more, so that means if I should have difficulties again, it should be on the way BACK somewhere, maybe NJ again. This should leave the way free and clear for March, no? Or at the very least, catastrophe would happen about a mile from my home in Boston, at the end of it all!! That's my philosophy, anyway. I wish I still had my Toyota. IT liked the sojourn. The March show should see the largest gathering of Janglers yet!! That will be so cool, and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. I'm not even going to pretend to try to get there in time for #1 in line. My goal is merely to make it, without having to call anyone, before the end of the show. It can be done, I know it can. OTHER people do it, so *I* should be able to do it too. :) Peace, Sheila Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Jan 2001 22:18:35 -0400 From: Don Semmens Subject: Re: [jangle-poets] Re: Birchmere At 09:58 PM 1/11/2001 -0500, rcr0519@mail.ecu.edu wrote: >At 09:36 PM 1/11/01 -0400, you wrote: >>I'll be there for the annual "Don fights Cone for #1 line number" >>contest. :-) > > >But you forget, that we too beat cone last time.
