I would like to officially "s*bscribe" if this posting hasn't done so already. Anyway, here's the set list from the Listening Room in Hastings, NE from Saturday 11/18/00: (set 1):Life is Large / The Koo Koo / Day In, Day Out / Right as Rain / Angels Cry / River of Fallen Stars / House on Fire / Shearwater / Wild Rivers (set 2):Wall of Death / Jesse / Pearl's Eye View / Chelsea Embankment / Down, Down, Down / Orange Blossom Special / One Heart, One Soul / Sirens / Life is Large (reprise) (encore):Take a Message to Mary / She Loves You Another fabulous performance--my 4th Kennedys show + I saw Pete twice opening for Nils Lofgren in 1990 at the old Birchmere--been hooked since! Personal highlights for me was the Buddy Holly-influenced 'Right as Rain' (minus the sitar), the lovely harmonies of "Take a Message to Mary", the new song, 'Pearl's Eye View', Pete and Maura tearing it up on 'Wild Rivers' and 'Sirens' + all the "classic" Kennedys songs! 'Take a Message..." is an old Everly Brothers song which they did acapella, and after explaining that they sing acapella a lot while on the road. "Pearl's Eye View", Maura said she wrote with Nanci Griffin and will appear on both Nanci and the Kennedy's new CDs. I'm not saying anything you don't know here, but Pete and Maura are TRULY very genuinely kind people, not to mention talented...with no egos!!! I've met them at the shows I've attended and they have always been very nice to me and to everyone who goes to see them. Before the show, they were telling me about meeting Southside Johnny, who incidentally does a great soulful cover of "Day In, Day Out" on his hard to find "Spittin' Fire" live CD. Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, and happy holidays ahead to all!
