Hiya DjP! I'm not sure there is any such thing as a "bad" kennedys' fan. So far I've never met one I didn't like!!! And yes, we nookers are here! >My second reason for foisting myself upon you is to find out "where to >from here?".  I'm acutely aware that Evolver is "a different kind of >music from the Kennedys" so I'm a bit worried that I won't be able to >find another of their CDs that I like as much.  I've only ever seen the >covers on the 'net - record stores in Oz don't carry that sort of thing! >So any recommendations for my next Kennedys record will be most >appreciated. My recommendation would be "life is large"... It has a good kennedys mixture. "Angel Fire" is the most "folky" album... and was my first Kennedys CD. "River of Fallen Stars" is a really really sweet album, and I love it dearly... but I still say start with "life is large". It's got folk, pop, rock, and everything in between. And it's a whole lotta fun! And they are going to have a new album sometime in the early spring, called "Galaxy Express"!!!! YAY! >"It is a quiet list....we seem to post when we have something to say and >if we don't, then we post to the Nook" This is the truth!!! There's a lot less random stuff posted here than on the nook. For example, we've never had a whole thread on porn names (which I think i might have started over there...oops!). But we are still easy people, because life is large, and we are most definitely... groovy. So, welcome DjP to the world of Janglers! We're fun, I promise! :~) - -rhiannon oh yes... and to be on this list, you must be aquainted with my (and nell's...she's also on the list) fish, groovy. He says, "nice to meet you". ----------------------------------------- "once in a while, you open up just like a child and see things fresh and new. It's nice to hear from someone new (and that's probably what all the other Janglers are saying about me too!) I've been pretty silent out here in cyberspace, but I definitely love to read all Kennedy's Lister's contributions. I praise Sheila for her undying enthusiasm and for enabling this whole list to happen. Anyway, my album recommendation is their first, River of Fallen Stars. And now that you've gotten recommendations for every album by now, we're probably not helping the situation! But I first heard the Kennedy's when they came to play at my college back in gosh....1996 I think or was it '97? But there music was instantaineously the kind that sends chills down your spine and brings a tear to your eyes, and those songs were off of River of Fallen Stars. Still my all-time fav album. Still has the same effect! So, there you go! Oh, and speaking of "there you go" I once co-wrote a song with The Kennedy's entitled "There You Go." They had come to Manhattanville College as Artists in Residence, and I attended a song-writing workshop w/ Pete and Maura, and one other student showed up. It was such a great experience. Then we even got to join them onstage that night and perform our song! Pete and Maura have such big hearts and are awesome 'cause they are so into the "kids" if you will. I was reminded of that when I heard how they "adopted" a bunch of underage college students for the night, so they could get into the venue. How cool is that?! Anyway, just a little tid-bit there. I can sometimes ramble..... Keep on postin' all you guys! You're quite entertaining! Oh, and I second Melissa's praise of Sheila... she does such a GREAT job!!!
