Another thousand mile weekend... this 1 a blue ribbon affair 2 B sure. The show @ Makor was fantastic & included the 2nd Ticket2MyHouse. It was great 2 C Rachel, Jenna, Bill, Dave & company, & Nancy... showing up just as the show concluded. The performance was very relaxed. Probe did not play Dress @ any of this weekend's shows. Makor, as a venue, TOTALLY SUCKS & I hope I never have 2 go there again. The manager, Brice, was rude, arrogent, & condesending... a general pain in the ass only concerned w/ how many people he can cram in2 his crappy, little, however well ventilated club. I just can't understand why folks will pay ($15) 2 B ripped off on overpriced 3rd world food (3rd world food should B cheaper). Durring the begining of the show all I could hear was the house 'sound boy' talking 2 his girl/boyfriend on the telephone. The conversation lasted thru 4 complete songs. This was the most disrespectful & unprofessional arrangement I have encountered in recent memory. In their defense, the wait staff was polite & made the best of a bad situation. Makor makes Wells College look sophisticated. Some1 else will have 2 post the list as I do not want 2, in any way, make Makor look good. It really is ashame that Probe have 2 play such elitist venues. The bright side is that Probe have outgrown Makor, which can no longer accomadate the demand 4 Probe. If they insist on returning many folks will B turned away @ the door. This can't B the only folk stage in Manhattan. How absurd is it 2 cram your standing room only space & then send a floor person out with a broom & dustpan 2 sweep up cigarette butts durring the show in a NON-SMOKING venue? This is what you're paying 4 when U buy a ticket 2 Makor. The club was also double booked & we were literally driven from the club immediatly after the show 2 make room 4 the PushStars who couldn't even draw a crowd. What's wrong w/ this picture & why is Probe being treated like this? Bernard, U did the right thing blowing off Makor 2 catch Amy Rigby. I'm certain I would have had a better time. Thanks 4 the loaves... they were put 2 good use. Lakeside Cafe was a dream... the moon floating over lake... the illuminated clouds reflecting off the water... The staff welcomed every1 w/ open arms & treated us all w/ great respect. Good coffee & desserts... a very comfortable room w/ bookshelves behind the stage... good lighting. Being a private community, folks brought coolers w/ beer, wine, bread & cheese. No profiteering here. This is my personal favorite setting 2 C the Probe. Several staff members Xpressed an interest in bringing back the full band 4 a swim party next year. 4 the record, the Lakeside Cafe welcomes any & all NiELdSfans who R willing 2 make the trip. The Kennedys have played there twice & left quite an impression on the community. If I could pick 1 place 2 C HaHaHa, Highland Lakes is the place. It is absolutly the most beautiful part of NJ & I'd move there in a heartbeat. Tailspin was performed here 4 the 2nd time, as far as I know. Lot's of new intro's & funny stories R on the way... Thanks 2 Dan 4 hooking me up w/ my old 'Dead road buddy' who now lives 'on the mountain'. It was after this show that I was informed X KN that the vaginas don't actually speak in the Vigina Monologues... Who knew? Probe and I both crossed High Point State Park in peak season on our way up 2 Rochester. Breathtakingly beautiful all the way 2 Binghamton. Having dallied in Highland Lakes until the last minute, I made it in2 the church just in the nick of time 2 catch Beth Amstel. I was greeted warmly X Andrew & Sherry (Sherry gives really good hugs), Alt Jen wandered in durring the 1st song, & I spoke w/ Lami after the show. Glen, the house sound man, did a great job resulting in some of the best Probe sound this season. After the show we went back 2 A+S's place 2 break bread, relax, & work on the NTAP... Andrew developed his film & we generally had a blast! 'Thank U... 4 a real good time!' Chalk up 3 big 1s 4 the Cone. That's all 4 now. I have 2 start thinking about 'beating it on down the line' back 2 Canadaigua... As always, I suspect it will B worth the ride, Probe having had 3 days 2 woodshed. Stay tuned!
