A nun in flip flops w/ a 3 day beard. 'Micheal row the boat ashore...' In Easton I was really tempted 2 make the run up 2 Lena's, but I've got all these 'things' I have 2 deal with. That puts U about 5-6 hrs from RI. That gives U all day sat/sun 2 drive back 4 school monAM w/ plenty of time 2 do your homework in the car. HaHaHa acoustic! THAT'S THE TICKET! I really do. But my fall break ends on October 18th, so I just don't think it would be a good idea! And if I stay in Asheville I can go see Victoria Williams without travelling at all on october 20! I'm thinking, cone, that what I should do, is drop out of college and go follow the nields and the kennedys around. A few brittany speares stickers and you and katryna would both love me. :~) - -rhiannon At 01:58 PM 9/24/00 EDT, you wrote: >In Easton I was really tempted 2 make the run up 2 Lena's, but I've got all >these 'things' I have 2 deal with. Jeans with funky patches would be cool too. I have this Bendo doll on my desk that looks like Nerissa, complete with guitar, and I'm basically thinking what she's wearing would be a great costume.....long-sleeved purple and white T with purple-fringed vest, jeans with a tie belt, Birkenstocks, and, of course, the flower garland in her hair. It's too cliche now, especially living in a town like asheville. But the problem with more modern folk singers is that they dress like everyone else. I mean, I *could* pull out my velvet dress and be dar williams... or get some funky striped tights and go for the maura look (heh, I know, I should make the dress from evolver...'cept that i can't sew), or I could wear boots and a short black skirt with a burgandy shirt and be katryna nields. But unfortunately (well, actually, unfortunate for my costume, but fortunate in all other instances) folk singers don't have a typical dress anymore! Maybe MJC's right, and I should get the velvet shirt that brings me luck. Or my best black dress. I *do* have a "Best black teeshirt". Or my "i sold my computer for a used acoustic guitar" shirt. Or maybe I could get the outfit that Pete always describes in the intro to "Mr. Lucky Man". I think that the guitar is most definitely the most important part of my outfit. And maybe a shaky egg too. And I'll just go around singing songs all night long. Everything from Mr. Tambourine Man to Good Morning Groovy. It's all folk (if you really want to label it). - -rhiannon (who was a faerie for halloween last year) p.s. Speaking of clothes, isn't it about time for the kennedys to make some kennedys teeshirts? They last longer than tattoos. And maybe, just maybe, when they do, they'll actually make ones that fit me! I've even seen Lucy Kaplansky in leather, and Beth Amsel barefoot in cutoffs and a tank top! I love the striped tights, and I like the Evolver dress, though admit that I am partial to the green dress (though it has to be with the matching ponytail scrunchies). And last night, Maura had on the most adorable grey crushed-velvet-like dress....I loved it! I wish you luck!!
