Three administrative items below, thanks for reading. 1. Please remember that the ILx is text-only. Attachments such as Word documents cannot be posted. Also remember that not everyone can read HTML-formatted mail. I will continue to forward things sent to me that way rather than deny or edit them, but you'll be limiting the number of people who can read your listings if you use anything other than straight ASCII text. 2. To unsubscribe from the list: Send in the *body* of a message, *not* the subject: unsubscribe ilx to "majordomo@smoe.org". You will receive a confirmation message. Send it back to the majordomo, then you'll be unsubscribed. Administrative comments and questions should be sent to "owner-ilx@smoe.org", not to my personal email address. 3. Someone wrote to say they were disappointed by the high prices and appearance of auction items on the list. When the list moved to the new server James and I decided to do away with the strict rule that all items must have prices listed so that we could allow lists with "for trade" items. I prefer trading myself and like to offer items that way. We also decided that to allow that but ban auction lists or "for offer" items would be impossible. The original idea behind priced items only was to try and keep the prices low, but neither of us felt that it had worked very well, and in the end it was not appropriate for anyone to try and judge what a "fair" price is or isn't. Personally I think trading is the best way to avoid the inflation of prices for rare items. To keep with the original spirit of the list I will not post auction lists in the future but I will post items that are listed for trade or offer, and cannot stop anyone from running an auction on their own. My apologies to those who do not agree with this policy.
