The Lydon interview was a half hour of light-hearted fun, which among other things, revealed Lydon to be a member of a club that has just come to my notice: admitting what you listened to in the pre-punk 70's, if you're that old: I myself was besotted with the Stones, (but not living then in either America or Europe meant I never saw them until 1981) while Lydon, on this show, has high praises for Black Sabbath (well, at least "Paranoid"). From the Ex's interview in perfectsoundforever http://www.furious.com/perfect/ex2.html we find that Terrie first bought "Love Me Do", and his first concert was ELP! Andy "A Night at the Opera" and "Changes", among others, and saw Thin Lizzy. Trombonist Walter Wierbos got the religion from Led Zep and Deep Purple. There was a time when most of those records would have been purged from collections, but the fact remains that they were fundamental, even if not the most influential, to many great musicians. And, of course, some of them are genuinely great pieces of rock music...(can't bring myself to swallow ELP yet). That's probably more than two cents worth, so I owe you some change.... Radio 4 is a strange title for us UK listers as BBC Radio 4 is speech-based radio (news, comedy, plays, n stuff) with a pretty big audience while Radio 3 is for classical/orchestral music which the track almost seems to be having fun with. All for under $20. You had to order the 2nd cd from WMO. I got the 2nd cd when WMO were closing down. Perhaps spmeone on the list has an extra copy? Furthermore, how much would the 2xCD version go for pricewise, on average? You see, I've been looking for this particular release for a while, and have seen several copies of "Coatings", undifferentiated in terms of edition, on sale for very, very high prices.... Honestly, I would just like to know what I should (or shouldn't) expect when looking for this one!
