I was expecting to be amused, but actually I was deeply impressed. B I have a mate who has 29 ukeleles and banjo-ukesB at the last count, mostly secreted around the house away from the gaze of his wife, who takes a dim view. I will make him aware of this - might switch him on to decent music at last (he likes Elton John and Supertramp - the thought of uke covers of that shite truly boggles the mind). In the 80s there was record series called "Songs The Cramps Taught Us," collecting the original recordings of songs The Cramps either covered or were obviously influenced by. The series was for me accurately named, was a real eye-opener and great fun. I saw The Cramps only Once at the I-Beam. For years they played The Fillmore every Halloween, always meant to make it one year. . . . But news of Howard's mate is as good. Why does he need 29 ukes? When does he play them? Was this love exposed to his wife before getting married? And I am trying to work out where I'd secrete 29 ukuleles around the house if I needed to. another the Keith - -----Original Message----- From: owner-idealcopy@smoe.org [mailto:owner-idealcopy@smoe.org] On Behalf Of HOWARD SPENCER Sent: 06 February 2009 11:20 To: idealcopy@smoe.org Subject: [idealcopy] Re:ukes thanks to Syarzhuk for the ukelele link.
