Well, I loved the record enough to put it out myself. It's definitely an "album" in that songs flow into one another, are arranged nicely, and it's produced pretty well. Live it's I think another dimension of the band, as their drummer is like Ginger Baker combined with Animal and their sound can be quite monsterous. On the record you can hear the songs and vocals quite well. They both are complimentary I think. It's on iTunes where you can preview excerpts and there's a few tracks I give away on Brainwashed for free: http://brainwashed.com/common/sounds/mp3/all_the_saints-sheffield.mp3 http://brainwashed.com/common/sounds/mp3/all_the_saints-fire_on_corridor_x.mp3 On Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 10:05 PM, P J Kane wrote: > Jason Rogers and i went to see APTBS with All the Saints opening back in > March. both bands were excellent... as to going to see them again... i am > not sure yet. of course, if Mr. Rose is making the trek all the way up from > Columbus i might be motiviated to go out. but there are so many shows in > this two week stretch, from Wire to The Wedding Preset to Graboids (who i > promised to review on this tour), to APTBS, to The Octopus Project ... i > just don't know if i can do all of those shows. i have to be at work at 8 > most days! > Dan -- are you coming up for the show? > Jason -- are you going to that one? > > so Mr Whitney -- how is the All the Saints record? do you think it captures > their live sound? > > PJK > > On Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 9:54 PM, Jon Whitney wrote: > >> All the Saints will be on that show in Atlanta!! Maybe you could help: I've got a 4.26GB wav file, recorded via Native Instruments' Traktor DJ app, which opens as a 26 minute long file on every player I tried: From iTunes, VLC, Peak LE, Pro-Tools, etc. I tried converting it to various formats but it always converts only the first 26 minutes (creating a proportional-sized file for 26 minutes opposed to the 4GB original). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAV - here it says "The WAV format is limited to files that are less than 4 GB in size, due to its use of a 32 bit unsigned integer to record the file size header (some programs limit the file size to 2-4 GB).[2] Although this is equivalent to about 6.6 hours of CD-quality audio (44.1 kHz, 16-bit stereo), it is sometimes necessary to go over this limit, especially when higher sampling rates or bit resolutions are required. The *W64* format was therefore created for use in Sound Forge. Its 64-bit header allows for much longer recording times. The *RF64 * format specified by the European Broadcasting Union has also been created to solve this problem." Does anyone know of any way I can save the whole 4GB set? giluz - -- Now playing: http://www.last.fm/user/giluz/ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Oct 2008 13:42:49 -0400 From: "Jon Whitney" Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Anybody catching APTBS....... maybe this song's not a good example of exactly that kinda drumming but a good recording and video regardless: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQicGzdeqlY here's another killer tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UebSLtqehDg On Wed, Oct 8, 2008 at 7:54 AM, Adrian Cooke wrote: > "their drummer is like Ginger Baker combined with Animal" > > > Excellent, that's all the sales pitch you could possibly want to get > interest in a band.
