That was around the date Object 47 had been released, and I was curious why it would be released through Greedbag and not (as before) through PostEv... : ( Over the years (since '99) I sincerely did everything possible to give it all the business I possibly could, but that clearly was not enough. PE was always in my top bookmarks in my nav bar. For Swim~, PinkFlag, Leaf, Bette, Lo, Sub Rosa, Quatermass and other great label releases, I was always opting to put my money into PE.com rather than any other online retailers or options... PostEverything was probably the only website I've shown to (or shared with) all my friends and most of my family. Even my folks knew they could turn to use PostEverything when stuck for getting me a Christmas present, there was so much amazing stuff there, all choice releases. And the one thing I could never get over was how prompt their delivery was. To the states (specifically California), it often took often no more than 3 days between my order date and its arrival. I would usually send a reply to confirm how speedy it was, it was always the closest thing to door to door delivery I've seen online. Seeing their "check back for updates" message up, I hope sincerely that the old PE business model presented a learning a growth opportunity for Colin, Tony and Dorian -- to make an even more robust PostEverything 3.0 someday soon... There's a free MP3 of Couldn't Get Ahead to promote this which you can download from last.fm here: http://www.last.fm/music/Globo/Couldn%27t+Get+Ahead You can also listen to tracks from the album here: http://www.last.fm/music/Globo/This+Nation%27s+Saving+Grace - I think there might be a free MP3 in there somewhere too. Jason Rogers and i went to see APTBS with All the Saints opening back in March. both bands were excellent... as to going to see them again... i am not sure yet. of course, if Mr. Rose is making the trek all the way up from Columbus i might be motiviated to go out. but there are so many shows in this two week stretch, from Wire to The Wedding Preset to Graboids (who i promised to review on this tour), to APTBS, to The Octopus Project ... i just don't know if i can do all of those shows. i have to be at work at 8 most days! Dan -- are you coming up for the show? Jason -- are you going to that one? so Mr Whitney -- how is the All the Saints record? do you think it captures their live sound?
