Two rave mentions of this in yesterday's Guardian, in the bit where critics choose their track of the week. Dave Simpson says 'Wolf Kidult Man' contains "their most insistent barrage of guitars" since 'US 80s-90s' while Jude Rogers says '50 Yr Old Man' is a "raucous three-part 11-minute Krautrock epic". Can't find links to these online unfortunately. Re my scepticism about faux-Krautrock expressed earlier in the week, I wait to be convinced but at least MES knows what it should sound like. There's also an interview with MES in the May issue of Word magazine ahead of the issue of the new album and autobiograhy (no real details of this). I particularly like the lyric from '50 Yr Old Man', "He's in collusion with Virgin trains against me." I think all users of the West Coast mainline can empathise with this. another the Keith ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Apr 2008 13:16:37 +0300 From: giluz Subject: Re: [idealcopy] OT: Imperial Wax Solvent On 12/04/2008, Keith Knight wrote: > Which is the name of the new Fall album. Certainly better than their last, though not as brilliant as Von Sudenfed. As to 50 yr old man, it's a raucous three-part 11-minute Fall epic more than anything else. giluz - -- Now playing: http://www.last.fm/user/giluz/ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Apr 2008 16:36:22 +0100 From: "Keith" Subject: RE: [idealcopy] New Wire > Suspect the ball is in Bruce's court should he ever want back in.... > Oh to have the luxury of deciding whether or not I could be arsed to play guitar with one of the most important bands in the universe.
