There's no problem doing this technically, but it sounds too much like the House of Lords to me. There's no restriction about joining this forum so I don't see any reason to have a restricted area (non-listers and trespassers will be shot?) on the band's official forum. Besides, the regular working-class forum would probably be almost identical to the list anyway. btw, anyone who doesn't already know the list's secret handshake, invented by the two or three survivors of the Roxy gigs still lurking here, maybe shouldn't consider himself as a Wire fan, or as anyone worth anything to anybody. cheers giluz - -another the Paul > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Tim > Cc: idealcopy@smoe.org > Sent: Tue, 1 Apr 2008 5:21 pm > Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Idealcopy Pinkflag Merger > > > > > > > > Craig Grannell wrote:B > B > > > > There's not currently any need to convince the band or me that a forum > > is needed - we're well aware of that, and it's 'on the list' of future > > stuff for the site. Can I suggest theres a Wire section, another the music section and an OT section for all the stuff about Cricket etc so the idea of a Wire community carries over nicely from this list. I Quite agree!, I hope we're all clear by now from what Colin & Craig have told us that while there is to be an online forum at some point, IC is here to stay and will remain the gentlemans smoking lounge it is now. However, I'm really looking forward to the forum and I hope a lot of you will join me, propping up the bar in The Pink Flag Public House to dish out our sage advice to the wider community of Wire fans..some of whom may be Women! ;) Most online forums give you a certain status depending on how many posts you make. Perhaps all us IC'ers can be given full Freemason/Rotary Club Member status automatically (as long as they roll up their trouser legs and post a Youtube vid of themselves doing a Monty Python Silly Walk to the soundtrack of "Ba-Dr" from Dome 3) ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V10 #348 ********************************
