I had gone there with my friend Adrian (whom I've mentioned here in a Wire context more than once) who had somehow blagged a ticket despite neither of us being architects, let alone graduating ones. I recall he copped off with a young lovely leaving me to appreciate the acts of the night. The high point was now forgotten White funk act, Funkapolitan, who were really great although their subsequent (limited) releases never captured that early 80s white funk drive that they achieved that night. They were as good as the Gap Band that evening. As for Bauhaus, I remember 'Bela Lugosi's dead' but little else. Another the Keith (still reeling from the performance by The Imagined Village on this week's LATER - I doubt that there will be a more thrilling six minutes of music on telly this year. Can still be found on iPlayerfor another couple of days about 15-20 minutes in, if it works for you - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b008yw67.shtml?filter=category%3A 100006&scope=iplayercategories&start=1&version_pid=b008yw5v - -----Original Message----- From: owner-idealcopy@smoe.org [mailto:owner-idealcopy@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Uri Baran Sent: 19 February 2008 17:33 To: elektrolad; idealcopy@smoe.org Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Final Bauhaus album and single It does sound like Iggy/Bowie! But it's not very good Bauhaus. I was a big fan of them many moons ago. Saw them supporting Magazine at the Lyceum something like May '80. Was blown away by them and caught them many times after. Good live they were.
