Wow which town was this shot in? Anyone fancy getting a pub quiz team together and head over there? To be fair, the guy who thought Tony Blair was an Actor had a point. It starts with a blinding trio of songs. I hadn't heard The Human League's 'Circus of Death' for too long and now can't stop playing it - simultaneously funny and creepy this is one of their finest songs. Then Tubeway Army's 'Down in the Park' which sounds better than it did at the time. And then The Knife's 'Silent Shout', the opening track from their excellent album, whose fast burbling electronica always seems to slide off my brain in a faintly disturbing way, as if I've just missed it. So a fine opening and there is stuff from Matthew Dear, cLOUDDEAD, and John Foxx that's worth hearing as well as a welcome extract from Tangerine Dream's 'Rubycon'. Recommended if you can still get hold of it (or can get hold of it at all - these things are not always available outside the UK I think). Chris NP RAW Records 2 X cd of stuff from the 70's Punk Singles - Includes The Killjoys & my favourite Cambridge band from that era The Users. And The Knife album is pretty good Keith. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 3 Feb 2008 18:40:43 -0500 From: Eric Klaver Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Mojo CD - OK Computer I just saw this at the bookstore yesterday. A great intro for someone wanting to catch up on electronic history (not including something from OMD's first four albums or b-sides is an oversight, IMHO). The Severed Heads "Dead Eyes Opened" track is worth noting as well.
