DENNIS WILSON'S BAMBU TO BE RELEASED IN MARCH The late Beach Boy Dennis Wilson's out-of-print debut LP, Pacific Ocean Blue, will be reissued in a special Caribou/Legacy edition with the bonus of his never-released second LP, Bambu. Bootleg copies of the second album have circulated for years but under the title Bamboo. The press release was announced Jan 11, 2008 by Jon Stebbins. "Don Williams Music Group takes pride in announcing that twelve original compositions co-authored by Dennis Wilson and writer client Gregg Jakobson will be included on the upcoming Caribou/Legacy release by Dennis Wilson, Pacific Ocean Blue/Bambu. "A March 2008 release is expected for the two-disc package that will contain the late Beach Boys' acclaimed 1977 solo work Pacific Ocean Blue and will feature Wilson's previously unreleased Bambu LP, described by rock historians as a lost classic." Personally, I'm not convinced it's the lost classic it's made out to be - personally I don't think there's anything as great as Make It Mine, Cuddle Up or Forever (Dennis songs for the Beach Boys which - for me - stand up against almost anything Brian or anyone else wrote for the band). But is it worth a listen? If you like the Beach Boys - Undoubtedly!!
