Speaking of T Rex I have just finished the John Peel Autobiography with his  
wife Sheila & of course it's stuffed full of interesting anecdotes but the  
passages about Marc Bolan & Captain Beefheart were very interesting and it  
would have been god to have John's true perspective in his own words although I  
suppose Sheila was as faithful about the relationship with both as she could be 
 considering.
Following that I got John Peel A Life In Music by Michael Heatley. It's a  
terrific read if you like name dropping & so many bands he was associated  with 
rang little bells in my head that I rushed to "the collection" to dig out a  
lost 7" and spin it.
Wire have 3 references in the book....... Wait for it ..... the last being  
page 154.

Wasn't too keen on the Heatley book myself, Chris.

Read too much like a shopping list of bands, I thought.

I don't half miss old Peelie, though.
