PAUL RABJOHN wrote: just a quick note on this one. highly enjoyable night , very low key setting chosen because the band were rehearsing just up the road. nice little venue in trendy shoreditch/hoxton , must have been close to where they did the "flagburning" warm-up gig but i couldn't get my bearings. and free to get in.....bargain! compared to the 2002 gigs this was a bit looser , more relaxed and all the better for it. the "art pop" tracks sound great live. setlist was ; Reset, Alpha, On Your Own, Fake Corpses, Drop, Drive By, Lifeloops, To Have & To Hold, Craft is Dead, All Set Up, Live In Your Head; encore: Profile highlights were probably the uptempo tracks off artpop ( "on your own" , "all set up" and . particularly , "drive by") , but the vibe in general was really good. decent turnout but only 3 of the IC massive which is i fear somewhat of a disappointment (excuses , excuses...). it really was well worth the trip , if any of you get the chance to see any of the other dates i would go for it without reservation. sadly the night did have a low spot , as there was also a "headliner" , some dire hoxton performance troupe of drag queens in a sub-leigh-bowery stylee. i made my excuses and left. p ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V10 #122 ********************************
