Fennesz The end of the tour was a few nights ago in Tel Aviv. While nothing really excited me about anything Patton done in the last few years, this proved an exception. I much prefer to hear him use his voice as an instrument in an improvised noise experimental gig than anything else (well, except for Bungle/zorn projects). The set was fantastic and the duo enjoyed it so much they gave extra 30 minutes encores. Patton's star appeal proved very useful, causing more than 1000 people to show up, listen and even enjoy music they would never have been exposed to otherwise - the gig was sold out two months in advance. This kind of music would usually attract no more than 150-200 people here. While there was a steady flow of people leaving the venue throughout the gig, most people stayed and wouldn't leave, demanding more. giluz - -- Now playing: http://www.last.fm/user/giluz/ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 Jun 2007 10:40:53 -0700 From: "Paul Pietromonaco" Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Tim Buckley - My Fleeting House Hi Mark, > At least one of the tracks is on the official OGWT DVD - perghaps this is > why it's not on the Buckley DVD? > Interestingly enough, the OGWT DVD performance is Dolphins - I'm actually thinking that's why it's on the Buckley DVD. (Yes - I have the R2 PAL version of the OGWT DVD - I didn't think that it would come out in the US! D'oh!) > Keith, did Tim Buckley ever play the Buckley Tivoli? > Heh! Not to the best of *my* knowledge! (^_-) (Had to Google the Buckley Tivoli - looks....interesting...(^_^;)) By the way - there's a pretty good gig guide at http://www.timbuckley.com. Turns out he played Seattle once! July 1969 - I would have been 4 years old - but hey! The Andy Summers book is quite good, as is the Robert Greenfield book about Exile On Main Street. Has anyone read 'Give The Anarchist A Cigarette'? and are there further reading recommendations?
