I loved his classic J Edward Oliver cartoon strip in Disc in the 70's, whilst other people were fans of his later work in comics. I kept most of the Disc strips - apart from the one that I used to cover my Maths book, which kept me entertained whilst the teacher was going on about logarithms or whatever. Maybe it's Jack's fault I did so badly! Anyway, I came across the J Edward Oliver website early this year, and was absolutely chuffed when Jack replied to my email. Those Fresco-le-Raye cartoons popping into my inbox would always brighten up the day, and its horrible to think that there will be no more. My thoughts are with his friends and family. RIP Jack. x ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V10 #102 ********************************
