I suppose I don't mind buying all of these singles collections and compilations over & over again. At least I still like those old tracks, but please no more Blue Monday or half-arsed remixes of any sort... wnd3 - --- Tim wrote: > It is indeed barrel scraping, albeit not "official" > product. These are monitor mixes of some kind - there's nothing particularly different about the Closer stuff. However there are nice rough mixes of Autosuggestion and From Safety to Where - the latter in particular is very different, with far less Hannett reverb trickery on the guitars etc. However there are some nice little gems on here, including your own Hannett samples: 1 - Hannett's recording of the lift doors closing, used at the start of Candidate on Unknown pleasures 2 - The bottles being smashed for I Remember Nothing, including a failed attempt by Rob Gretton.( bonk - "The fucking thing won't break!") 3 - Some ribaldry about Man Untiited fans (Gretton again) and Hannett telling Ian Curtis to fuck off Not worth buying - but it can be found on various download sites (eg Dimeadozen) Mark ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 May 2007 17:05:20 +0100 From: "Clements, Bruno - BUP" Subject: RE: [idealcopy] Martin Hannett's Personal Mixes > p.s According to Hooky's myspace site New Order have finally split up > for good (again)... > > http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=180575671&bl ogID=262679181 > > > > Crikey its a good job that man plays Bass better > than he writes the > English language! > Kids in the UK are increasingly writing like this - in Hooky's case it's probably just contrived.
