I watched that open mouthed. It seemed like an act of unspeakable cruelty to both Cure fans and band although (possibly due to editing) they got a moshpit going. Not nearly as toe curling as the attempt to break the world air-guitar record at Sheffield Wednesday...which went badly. I don't know much about football but I do know that if you're team is 2-0 down to Scunthorpe at half-time you are not going to want to mime air-guitar with some dodgy NWOBHM band on the comeback trail. Quite interesting show though...now that Life on Mars has finished (with a nice nod the The Prisoner at the end) I'll watch the rest. I hope I haven't missed the one about the dodgy local radio station based in Frinton that has Diddy David Hamilton, Mike Read and an AM License....thats really stuck in 1973! > > talking of horror stories , i see spandau ballet are reforming I will defend Spandau in so far as True, Only When you Leave, Gold, Instuinction, To Cut a Long Story Short, Chant No.1 and I'll Fly For You are pure 80s pop classics...and Musclebound is hilarious!. And early Spandau isn't a million miles away from A Certain Ratio...musically and visually. Compare them with recent teen pop bands like the charmless Westlife...5 Val Doonicans on fucking stools singing 50 year old ballads? n.p. Monstrance - (XTC's Andy Partridge and Barry Andrews doing some rather wonderful, very listenable improv with an excellent drummer called Martyn Barker) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 12 Apr 2007 20:41:51 +0100 From: "Keith A" Subject: [idealcopy] Off topic: Petition to: replace the national anthem ...with, er, 'Gold' by Spandau Ballet.
