Each time the EX tour America and bypass yet again the third-tier city called Atlanta, a part of me hardens and sours. Or it certainly would, if I couldn't remember the days of seeing them and the inspiration they provided. The effect was similar to three months of yoga, organic vegetables, hot fantasy sex, and a scientific brainwave all absorbed into my body by soundwaves, while I just stood grinning and swaying. OK, so I'm not a poet, it's before 6 am in the aforementioned Atlanta, and my morning tea is only half drunk, but you get the gist of what I'm saying. Sometime in the next year will see the release of a new dvd, called something along the lines of 'Building A Better Mousetrap', an EX concert from the Knitting Factory filmed by Jem (FUGAZI/INSTRUMENT) Cohen. They have a cool website, an introductory interview at Perfect Sound Forever, and Fergus, if you break out the traps, my not-so-well tempered guitar is at the ready. PS...the pics are great! (Shoes, filthy floors, sweat, blurry strumming, Katrin's sweet crooning and guitars!) There's always more bollocks than good stuff on this NY show and frankly I couldn't be arsed setting the video. I just watched bits here and there. Watching fireworks over the Thames was far more interesting than hearing Amy Winehouse (who's Re-hab I must admit to liking!) perform a thoroughly lifeless version of Monkey Man. As for Sufjan... He's not necesarily my cup of tea, but I think he's ok. There's far more deserving targets! K. * I was thinking of that performnace the other day, and couldn't remember his name so thanks for reminding me! - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Clements, Bruno - BUP" To: Sent: Wednesday, February 14, 2007 7:19 AM Subject: RE: [idealcopy] OT: New depths successfully plumbed > >>>...this year's particularly dismal Xmas Hootenanny show...<<< > > Yes, but a man with a three-string guitar and a wooden box proved that music > doesn't need to be complex to kick ass!
