Like Tim, I thought it had run out of steam even when ML was aboard. Anyway... As for last weeks show, it was pretty painful viewing and I would have reched for the off-switch except young Amy Winehouse was on it, in a rather inebriated condition. Car crash telly - and likely to be shown in the future with the likes of Oliver Reed on some Top 10 Pissed & Embarrassing Performances On TV. He seemed to have lost his sense of humour and expected that to be edited out, which it wasn't. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Nov 2006 23:18:17 -0000 From: "Keith Knight" Subject: [idealcopy] When in London... . - and sorry to those who won't be anywhere near London soon, but for those who may be - there is a new Fopp on Tottenham Court Road and it's HUGE. There's even a bar downstairs. It's big enough to display CDs by (selected) record label as well as alphabetically and by genre. It's like a dream landscape and I would say impossible to go into without spending money. I bought A Hawk and A Hacksaw's new album for seven quid, The Name of this Band is Talking Heads 2 x CD set for a fiver and a compilation selected by Matt Groening for three quid. I feel that I got away lightly. I spotted two Wir(e) Cds for a fiver each - IBTABA and The First Letter. I'd go as far as to say that this is now a must-go destination if visiting London, even if you have a Fopp nearby.
