The list is a little quiet at the moment, obviously because Wire are not 'active' (we all live in hope, of course, being eternal optimists). No harm in discussing other music though - it's how a lot of people discover more stuff! Bruno http://www.yourguide.org.uk/devizes/dtour.html#visit I live two minutes walk from the Wharf at Devizes, pictured in the link, but have yet to get to NYC. My girlfriend's been twice and loves it - that's to New York, of course, not the Wharf :-) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Nov 2006 15:23:33 +0200 From: giluz Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Off Topic - The Fall On 11/4/06, Clements, Bruno - BUP wrote: > > A belated welcome to the list, Dennis, and don't keep your thoughts to > yourself! > > The list is a little quiet at the moment, obviously because Wire are not > 'active' (we all live in hope, of course, being eternal optimists). > > No harm in discussing other music though - it's how a lot of people > discover > more stuff! Not only is it harmless, but also crucial. Wire were always about music innovation and diversity, and that of course applies to other music as well. I discovered lots of new music thanks to list members sharing their thougts here and I still hope to discover more. As to the Fall, if you look, for example, in LastFM pages you will find that most Fall fans are also Wire fans - both bands are certainly the most significant bands to emerge from post-punk and still keep on releasing new stuff over the years (with Wire sporadically, with the Fall an endless gush of albums). I think I'm not mistaken when I write that the Fall are probably the most mentioned off-topic subject here. Welcome anyway. cheers giluz Bruno > > http://www.yourguide.org.uk/devizes/dtour.html#visit > > I live two minutes walk from the Wharf at Devizes, pictured in the link, > but > have yet to get to NYC.
