I thought it would be written in something of a whacky style but no...he's clearly done some daft things though! Anyway, people of a certain age will find much to enjoy here - from trips to Butlins as a kid where he would see entertainers with names like Rollin' Ronnie, Pierre and Francios, The Amazing Dick and an ancient organist who went by the name of Les, The King of the Zeppelins - to all the music references here. Vic is clearly a big fan, who was really into the prog scene - ATK will be pleased to know VDGG get a few mentions and the bit where he went to see Camel live is funny. Apparently their Snow Goose set is where the famous Dove From Above round on Shooting Stars came from!! Then, like a lot of us, he got into something else when punk came along and thought there's no mention of our chaps, he tells us about going to see the likes of The Ramones, Johnny Moped and Richard Hell live. Some may find the following rather pertinent! ; ) "We had read about the punk rock movement and liked the theories and the style. It fitted in with the way we thought, and the destruction of pompous music seemed to be a good idea, although throughout the entire period of feverishly claiming we thought the prog rock we had added previously was rubbish, we were all going home and listening to our VDGG and King Crimson records on the sly. (It was gratifying to discover later that many leading punk rockers were doing exactly the same thing)." All in all, recommended!! A signal that is far left or far right would trigger a partial response in the rear channels. Thus - it's a stereo expander as well. ^_^ Just out of curiousity, does yours look like this, Ari? http://home.indy.net/~gregdunn/dynaco/components/QD1/index.html Cheers, Paul ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Aug 2006 16:16:35 -0700 (PDT) From: Ari Subject: Re: [idealcopy] OT: Dynaco QD 1 Quadaptor on ebay HURRY! I actually didn't read the "review" on the site until after I posted the link. I was mainly after the photo(s). It seems like the reviewer had made some incorrect assumptions about the product before he even bought it - those influenced the review very heavily. Still - the photos are nice. ^_^ Also - the inside photos and explanation made me feel a lot safer about using the device. It made sense to my Electrical Engineering brain - even though it's been about 20 years since I last did any Electrical Engineering! ^_^ Cheers, Paul ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Aug 2006 02:28:22 +0100 From: Tim Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Me:Moir Keith A wrote: > Recently read Vic Reeves rather good autobiography Me:Moir.
