This gig completely escaped my radar until a couple of days before by which I was already committed to going to Ligament's reformation the day after, so couldn't really swing two gigs in two days. Ligament were supporting Girls Against Boys in one of those 'play the whole album' evenings but what's odd - possibly my radar going wonky again - is that I'd never heard of Girls Against Boys before booking this gig. As it turned out not many others had either, as the attendance was pretty paltry. A somewhat Fugazi-esque sound which is not my cup of tea and I only really got interested in the last song which had a New Big Prinz swing to it. Ligament were more like it although their tight noise attack wasn't really suited to a half-empty Koko. It's good to have them back even if they're one of those bands who exist only as live experience for me. So, back to the question - what were Rother & Moebius like Mark? Pretty good I'd wager on the evidence of their gig with Githead a couple of years back.
