I'll add to that the recent releases from Richard Butler (his self-titled solo debut is not perfect, but it is absolutely gorgeous...brings tears to my eyes) and Grant Lee Phillips (his brand new album of all cover tunes is called "nineteeneighties" and is absolutely gorgeous, nearly perfect (he doesn't cover Wire)...and brings tears to my eyes). Am I being redundant? They really are great albums. Really looking forward to the new TVOTR! - -another the Paul The Happy Apple Rock 'n Roll Circus comes to town! http://www.jazzatdetour.com http://www.geocities.com/eardrumbuz/happyapple ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2006 19:03:20 -0700 From: fernando Subject: Re: [idealcopy] The National (was : OT - So far..) Greetings, Recently I replied in this thread about The National, and in this day and age, it is possible to do something about it than just write. So, here is a link to three live videos (done quite nicely actually). They are available to download, and hopefully, those interested have a fast connection. My suggestion is to start with "About Today" which live takes on a different dimension than on the EP: it makes think of someone mashing "In a Lonely Place" and "Feed Me with Your Kiss." http://mathieu.saura.free.fr/site/nuit/little%20icons%20little% 20index/lifeindex.html I have also upped a few tracks from the Black Sessions which you can download at: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php? action=download&ufid=67F397FD0238E4D4 which will last for a few days. cheers! - -fernando On Jul 10, 2006, at 1:26 PM, Eardrumbuz@aol.com wrote: > In a message dated 7/8/06 11:07:43 AM, inspectorjason@hotmail.com > writes: > > >> There's a reason why I listed The Editors last, I've got to say. >> It's a >> fine purchase, but pales in comparison to most of what I've bought >> this >> year.
