I used to be very excited about that whole revival scene until I realized that almost all the records that really thrilled me-- Maximo Park, Futureheads, Bloc Party-- were produced by the same guy. (Actually, the Editors are the one exception to that.) The new Futureheads, without Epworth producing, didn't do it for me. So apparently I just like Paul Epworth. a ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Jul 2006 23:24:33 +0100 (BST) From: PAUL RABJOHN Subject: RE: [idealcopy] RE: OT - So far.. the guy from Nouvelle Vague was interviewed in the guardian last week and he said something along the lines of "if i wanted to hear the editors i might as well go listen to joy division.....i'm looking for something i havn't heard before to actually inspire me". which i think summed up my thoughts on most of these new bands (though i hadn't realised there was a "house producer" for postpunk karaoke....that name was new to me). so chalk up 2 more on the anti-editors faction. p Keith Knight wrote: Actually, Dan, I suspect that there are more people here who like The Editors than don't.
