So if you want something more analytic and critical, you should try it. I am currently looking for a subject for my MA thesis, which will probably be an attempt to analyse the impact of Minimal Compact and its ex-members on Israeli music. As far as I'm concerned and especially today this kind of subject cannot be approached or understood from any other direction. giluz - -- Now playing: http://www.last.fm/user/giluz/ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 1 Jul 2006 18:31:55 -0700 From: "Paul Pietromonaco" Subject: [idealcopy] Derek Bailey "To Play" Hi everyone, I know some people are fans of Derek Bailey here. I thought I'd share this link I found whilst surfing thru David Sylvian's website: http://www.samadhisound.com/derekbailey/ From the liner notes: "One of his final collaborations was an unusual one with Samadhi Sound's David Sylvian, who invited him to "provide me with a challenge as a vocalist". Thus, on February 18, 2003, Bailey went into Moat recording studio in London and recorded a solo acoustic and electric guitar session (Sylvian was absent) a significant portion of which is to be found on this disk. Three tracks from the session were used, more or less unedited, by Sylvian on his celebrated disk Blemish (Samadhi Sound, 2004) - one of them is included here." The album is entitled "To Play (the blemish sessions)" and will be released in Sept. 06. (Sorry if this has been mentioned before. It's really hot today in Seattle, and I'm sleepy.. ^_^) Cheers, Paul ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V9 #174 *******************************
