At the moment, there's no Wire site, but there is a Pink Flag mailing list, and also a Posteverything one. He recommends signing up to one of those, and you'll get news of the release of the box-set (which doesn't currently have a confirmed release date, hence it not being on the site as yet) before it hits the site itself. http://www.posteverything.com/labels/label.php?id=17 is the location of the page where you can sign up to the PF list. A ((( Ari, don't get your knickers in a twist.. like I said to you off list, I know no more than what appears on PE - I'm not privvy to an further info - but I'm sure they'll let everyone know in good time. Be kind of thick of them not to. Though I'm sure they'll sell well, I can't see them selling out quicker than you can get your order in. It's not like they're flogging U2 tickets or something. And I don't see why the IC should be 'favoured' in any way over other, equally 'legit' Wire fans. First come first served etcetera, etcetera... meanwhile, eyes steady for PE... I should check my neglected spam-dedicated e-mail accounts. I don't think any concern is due as to the box-set being sold out in a matter of hours. A virtual queue of thousands are not waiting outside PEHQ. The remasters would probably sell quite well but it's a different level of fandom to buy a product in the first 24 hours of its release. As to the list being favoured in any way, I think it's crap. There isn't any reason we should be favoured over any other Wire fans who just don't like lists, don't have internet, hate this particular list, or are just hiding their Wire fixation from the world, telling everyone they're into that other Harvest art-rock band. We should just check the PE site as often as possible and, of course, notify the rest immediately (only after making the purchase, just to be on the safe side). All good things to those who wait, giluz - -- Now playing: http://www.last.fm/user/giluz/ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Feb 2006 16:59:07 -0600 From: "Steve Loubert" Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Buying a box-set From: "John Goddard" >I personally attempted to get on the posteverything email news bullletin list > last evening, unfortunately the postmaster twice sent the request back to my > mailbox as undeliverable!
