Myself, Mark B and Tim saw them at Salford the other night. Very good gig. First half nearly ruined by 3-4 drunks chatting and one shouting "Ronnie" during songs, but the band themselves were excellent. In fact I preferrred the first half, even though I was only familiar with a couple of tracks off the new album - it was just such a cool visual spectacle with Russ singing and Ron pretending to play the organ on the screen, and boxing with himself on screen, etc. Hilites probably the opening Dick Around, Metaphor, and the rock one, whatever it's called. The 2nd half - the greatest hits, etc - was good too though. Great moment when the audience just kept on clapping after This Town... they must have clapped for a min and half or so. It was lovely, like a real mark of respect, and the brothers stood and soaked it up. Russ looked a bit overcome by the end, actually. Other hilites inc No One Song In Heaven and The Rhythm Thief, that excellent opener from their last album Lil Beethoven. Yeah, good gig!! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Feb 2006 05:05:55 -0800 (PST) From: Jan Noorda Subject: [idealcopy] Gilbert on Soundtrack For An Exhibition http://www.moca-lyon.org/Pages/navig/navig.htm soundtrack for an exhibition 8 marc - 11th june musie d'art contemporaine de Lyon exhibition catalogue published by Forma j - --------------------------------- Brings words and photos together (easily) with PhotoMail - it's free and works with Yahoo!
