It was one of my yearly cycle journeys. Rough weather it was. I came from where the fog is coming in from the sea. Kintyre. No fog, but scum on the waves. People who were leaving the ferry could nearly walk into the wind. I went on the ferry, seasick i beame and reached Aran safely. I tried to cycle over that hill island. I do remember the last 3 kilometers to its highest point I had to walk and it was raining. On the south some palm trees probably because the warm gulfstream has its influence here. And because of these kind of views a lot of tourist cottages. Amd fishermen. Don't know if Aran's have the same kind of life like the men from the Oarkneys or Shetlands. They are living with one of the most dangerous professions in the UK. 6 weeks on sea. Nearly sleeping. Heavy drinking. Coming home to their desperate wifes. It seems there is drowning each year one or more who just fell between the ship and its cay. Their favourite must be it ends with a sea j > You absolutely sure about that, Giluz?
