This location houses rescued pets and the rescue teams. THEY ARE GETTING KICKED OUT. THEY MUST BE OUT BY NOON OR ELSE. Thank you!!! Pam crikey!!!!!!!!!! It's real it's bad it's real bad we have to sneak around to deliver food. black water security is here same guys that got toasted on the bridge in baghdad a few months ago. some of them have done tours in iraq already. i am wearing a german camo field uniform everywhere with a sniper veil for a scarf and a boonie hat. it fools most of the geeks.....should they look closely i'm wearing commie t-shirts though. strange..you can smell death in the air about 20 miles out of the city. i'm hooking up with doctors without borders. i'm at a friends apt in the quarter. what i can tell you is this....the authorities are shooting people at random and this is just a corporate land grab. tired been up about 48 hours. later ruben Tired of spam? The price that's getting charged per downloaded track is, as you have pointed out, pretty hard to take given it's a somewhat abstract 'commodity' and doesn't have any of the production overheads whatsoever, save for the (minimal) cost of having the track present on some manner of storage device. If it's on , say, an enormous hard drive / winchester(?) or whatever the thing doesn't even need to be powered up until a request for *that* track is processed, so there's not even an energy overhead necessarily ! It's hard to avoid the charge of blatant profiteering. However, one reason I would pay for downloaded stuff, is if *that* was the only way to obtain the obscure, or O.O.P. Yet, from what I can see, the whole industry is missing a trick here. You could even supply the original album's artwork etc in an associated attachment or something, for the punter to print out at home. So why hasn't it happened , I wonder? It's not like EMI etc to pass up the chance to 'maximise returns' .... Now, looking at that WMO list, once again I see "Whore" on there. Hmmm. I've wondered about taking a punt on that since I passed on a copy for #6 in a closing-down sale. Is it any good, folks? I seem to recall MBV are on there doing some song, so that should be OK, but what about the rest? Does it hold up in it's own right ? Obviously it isn't going to match the originals.....;-) And What about "Turns and strokes" (or is it "Coatings" that's on there:- I ain't got the list in front of me........ I just wanted to let you know that you can hear the complete CD for free: http://music.aol.com/songs/new_releases_full_cds and scroll the upper bar. Note: This requires plug-in software from AOL which seems to favor IE and Firefox - Safari users have reported trouble. Also, I'm not sure if this will work outside the US, etc. If you're running IE, it's gonna want to put an ActiveX control on your system - I haven't had any trouble with it, but caveat emptor, right? ^_^ Cheers, Paul P.S. There's a number of other albums you can preview. The new McCartney CD is there, for example. It's produced by Nigel Godrich (Beck, Radiohead) and pretty much self-performed. Not too bad, really - a quiet album. But, you're probably gonna check out the new Pussycat Dolls CD instead, right? ^_- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Sep 2005 19:53:52 +0100 From: "Keith Knight" Subject: RE: [idealcopy] OT : Of Mercury Prize and Overground Underground Um, how many 'n' words are there? "whore" has got some great stuff on it (MBV do "map ref" , laika's german shepherds is maybe the best of all). plenty of other good stuff on there too , for a fiver it's a steal. i guess these tribute compilations are a good guide to the esteem a band is held in. presumably wire were pretty pleased at their "haul". i've recently got hold of a dismal XTC one featuring such luminaries as the crash test dummies , rembrandts , they might be giants and joe jackson ( i guess the presidents of the USA were out of town at the time?). i'm wondering if i can find a gullible futureheads fan to palm this turkey onto....... p ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Sep 2005 20:43:20 +0100 From: Tim Subject: Re: [idealcopy] FINAL SUMMER CLEAROUT Derek White wrote: > Now, looking at that WMO list, once again I see "Whore" on there. > Hmmm. Its quite good, worth it for the MBV cover and Bark Psychosis' bizarre lounge/Barry White-esque reading of 3 Girl Rhumba. And What about "Turns and > strokes" Out takes from Document and Eyewitness + extras. If you like the former and you aren't worried about sound quality its essential. . Also worth having for Catapult 20, and Second Length which wouuld't sound at all out of place on 'Send'. Plus, its got my favourite Wire sleeve design (by Bruce Gilbert) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Sep 2005 21:40:27 +0200 From: Bart van Damme Subject: Re: [idealcopy] OT: Please help me choose an MP3 player! > Calling all techies!
