He was surprisingly positive about the whole Pixies thing on a personal level. As to the Pixies' future, he said something along the lines of there wouldn't be much point to a future without new material, but at that moment he was most interested in his current project. There was also a comment to the effect that new material would have to be much stronger than the old. All in all , from the interview, I would not be surprised in the least to see a new Pixies album someday. That said, FB has a new solo album out which apparently is supposed to be his "Blonde on Blond", and is understandably more concerned with it at the moment. Suspect it'll be received with the same enthusiasm as the rest of Frankie's solo career. Do I detect a hint of...ahem...cynicism, Mark? ; )<< Clearly the moment the opportunity presented itself Frank was happy to resurrect the Pixies - the solo career was going nowhere - to the extent that he was prepared to abandon a just-recorded album for two years. Fair enough I suppose. I hope they make a great album - but given the last couple of albums I can't imagine it'll be earth-shattering. The Pixies are almost a single idea - which they nailed on their first demo tape.
