He trained friends of mine. He died on a rebreather whilst diving a Uboat. He hasn't been found. I have obviously seens lots of chat on various dive forums about him buit didn't expect his name to pop up on IC although his photograpy background not his diving is what he is better known to the public for. He was very much a leading diver and there's not many people who become well known for two totally separate careers. By the way, I promised both Keith's a CD, not forgotten, will post them this week. Sorry about the delay. Art Brut...heard the singles and album, thought it was a lot of fun; they didn't change rock and roll, but they most certainly ARE rock and roll, and I took to them in ways I didn't, for example, with the Libertines, the Franz4, or the Blocs. Don't have any idea of their current status, but will be happy to be informed of such. 2. Politics... I posted last week after the London bombings and took a moment to consider if this wasn't perhaps the right forum for my political philosophizing (or if it was the right place but the wrong time)...but I only took a moment. I also briefly considered that I might not speak for all Americans when I condemned Bush, Blair, and Al Qaeda in the same breath, but fuck it, I certainly believe that. I have pondered something similar to the Freeway Bloggers' idea, in my front yard, as it borders a main road into the heart of corporate/republican Atlanta. I am not afraid of being thought foolish; however as surreal as this may sound in 2005, I have concerns about physical retribution. I still see people with rebel flags on their cars, one of my neighbors was the blogger who broke the Dan Rather scandal, and the traffic is awash with little black W's on rear windows. My wife is black, an artist, I play loud guitars in my den, and my tiny Hyundai (35+ MPG) fits under an enraged Hummer. But thanks for the link to someone doing cool work. Made my day. 3.
