Someone there inc Githead this week. Thought I'd share it here... GITHEAD - Profile Liked this straight away. Everything from jaunty pop to 21st century dub to motorik beats and shimmering guitars. Typical deadpan delivery from Colin Newman on some tracks is contrasted by Malka Spigel's brighter poppier ones on others. A bit yin and yang I s'pose. Robin Rimbaud's rhythmic guitar is a treat as are Malka's throbbing bass lines. Oh and the lyrics did make me laugh on occasions. Usually through the juxtaposition of Newman's non-sequiteurs which made a strange kind of sense to my addled mind or occasionally the note of resignation in their delivery. ( I'm off to Pseud's corner now ). The 2 x live cuts on the accompanying 'Freegit' EP are even better than their studio versions BTW ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V8 #181 *******************************
