Malcolm Ross's Josef K work is as vogueish as it gets - though the rest of his output suggests a versatile enough player to do a decent JMcG too. Got to have Formula and Adamson for it to sound right though.... Paul Haig won't countenance a JK revival BTW, the silly sod, and is all grumpy about Franz Ferdinand. >>great review of the new simon reynolds postpunk book in the new uncut. now i'd guess this would be brilliant , he's a fabulous writer who i never tire of reading.<< Really looking forward to that too... >> also the fall 6cd peel session box set ; the ol' credit card could be getting some action here. p<< Plus the expanded Cure 17secs/Faith/Porn albums too. All out on the same day along with the Fallbox set. Calling 50 quid bloke! I'm a big fan of "Words and Music" by Paul Morley, too. - - A ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Apr 2005 07:56:31 -0700 (PDT) From: Derek White Subject: RE: [idealcopy] Temple City Kazoo Orchestra v. Not being 'au fait' with e-bays M.O., *Would* this 'withdrawal' be at e-bay's behest, and if so, why? Aren't you allowed to *accurately* describe the items you're trying to unload ? If so, then calling said item a " Hateful CD from a disgusting band", further describing it as an "offending piece of self-indulgent drivel " seems as accurate as you could get..... Surely it's not the Genesis 'management' trawling the 'net for unflattering stuff ? Keith A wrote: This made me chuckle!! Genesis - We Can't Dance (CD 1991) Can't Dance? Can't blumming play either! I was only thinking yesterday that if I was to host one of the South Bank Meltdown things (yeah, I know. Dream on!!) the two bands that I'd like to get to reform would be Magazine and The Only Ones. The bidder is also someone from that list who just bid the penny for a laugh. Apparently people keep emailing the seller, telling him not to be horrid about Genesis. Incidentally, the page now includes these Questions from other buyers... Q: Hi. If I win do you mind if I use the disk as a frisbee, and the packaging as toilet paper? answered on: 11-Apr-05 A: That would be most agreeable, although I'm afraid the bloated lumpenness of the "musicianship" displayed on the disk itself would probably preclude the possibilty of any attainable or enjoyable aerodynamic response. Unless you threw it at a wall. As for the packaging, feel free to do with it as you wish... unless I beat you to it! :) ...more Q: smash it up - don't prolong our exposure to Genesis! This CD should be taken out of circulation and all copies distroyed! answered on: 11-Apr-05 A: Much as I'd derive intense pleasure from smashing the hateful thing into little pieces, some poor soul has actually bid on it thus prolonging the suffering of all present and future generations. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Apr 2005 17:57:37 +0100 From: "Andrew Lumbard" Subject: RE: [idealcopy] Temple City Kazoo Orchestra v.
